Look for cracks, breaks, or chips.

Look for damaged threads or rounded
heads.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION
Antiseizing tape must be used on all pipe threads to provide a good seal and to prevent threaded
parts from seizing.
NOTE
For more information on how to use antiseizing tape, go to General Maintenance Instructions
(page 2-424).

New oil filter
Put in.

9.
Remote oil
Ring (4)
Put in groove.

10.
Oil filter canister
a.
Put oil filter canister in position.
(1) and retaining
b.
Screw on and tighten using 1 1/8-inch
screw (5)
box-end wrench.
11.
Oil filter
Drainplug (6)
a.
Wrap pipe threads with antiseizing tape.

b.
Screw in and tighten using 7/16-inch
box-end wrench.
12.
Dump truck
Transmission
a.
Start engine and check transmission oil
level (TM 5-3805-254-10).
b.
Check for leaks.
