Operate generator at moderate speed as required
and adjust carbon pile as required to obtain
maximum current output.
(a) If output Is within 10% of rated output as
stamped on generator frame, generator is good.
(b) If output Is not within 10% of rated output, keep
battery loaded with carbon pile and ground
generator field by inserting screwdriver to ground
tab (42) to end frame.

Operate generator at moderate speed and adjust carbon pile as required to obtain maximum output.
(a) If output is within 10% of rated output, replace regulator and check field winding (see subparagraph b).
(b) If output is not within 10% of rated output, check field winding, diode trio, rectifier bridge, and stator (see
subparagraph a).
