ADJUSTING TAILGATE OPENING
WARNING
Use extreme caution when adjusting tailgate opening. NEVER adjust tailgate opening
when tailgate is open. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury.
CAUTION
Adjustment chains are intended for use only during spreading operations. Failure to comply
may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
To reduce interference between tailgate chain and tailgate locking linkage, chain must
pass through chain latch from the outside inward.
1.
In preparation for dumping load, with tailgate closed, lift chain out of slot (Figure 6, Item 2) of chain latch
(Figure 6, Item 1).
NOTE
Adjustment must be made equally on both sides of tailgate.
2.
Lengthen or shorten chain length by pulling links through chain latch (Figure 6, Item 1).
3.
Secure adjustment by sliding chain into slot (Figure 6, Item 2).
