5-1.
DUMP BODY AND STABILIZER REPLACEMENT (Con?).
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Keep clear of heavy parts sup-
ported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this warning may cause death or
injury to personnel or damage to equipment.
1.
Before welding, the following components must be disconnected: DDEC ECU, ABS
ECU, CTIS ECU, Datalogger, and batteries (TM 9-2320-363-20). Failure to follow this
caution may damage electronic components.
If removed, install stabilizer (TM 9-237).
2.
3.
Secure lower half (6) of stabilizer to upper half
(5) and to dump body (4) using a suitable chain
or nylon strap.
NOTE
Before lifting dump body, perform a
trial lift to ensure body is balanced
and will lift straight and level.
Attach suitable lift and chains at four corners of
dump body (4). Take up slack in chains with
lift.
NOTE
4.
When positioning dump body on vehicle chassis, pay close attention to hydraulic
cylinder positioning and rear hinge assembly alinement.
Lift dump body (4) and position over vehicle chassis (7). Lower body until rear hinge (15) and hinge pads
(16) are alined and hydraulic cylinder is properly positioned in recess at front of dump body.
